Spring Comedy at the Palace
All the Great Books (Abridged)
|
|
In
past spring comedies, we sprinted through Shakespeare and we blitzed
American History. This year we shredded All the Great
Books (Abridged), by Reed Martin &
Austin Tichenor. We performed 89 books you should have read in school and the
audience got all the credit.
On April 19th, 2008, for one night only, our actors abandoned accuracy
and decorum to speak volumes in 90 minutes. It’s “English Class
meets Monty Python,”
according to the Washington Post. The
evening includeed wine, cheese, and a raffle
to benefit our educational programs.

In
2006, Shakesperience performed The
Complete Works of William Shakespeare [Abridged] and followed up
the success in 2007 with The
Complete
History of America [Abridged.] Each evening, hundreds of
theatergoers helped us to celebrate and support our year-round arts and
education programs with a performance of slightly less educational
value than that to which we are usually accustomed. |
