Shakesperience’s
signature series of in-class Shakespeare workshops is designed with
several versions for various age and experience levels. Two
actors demonstrate a honed teaching style to make the text accessible
to all students. They lead the class through Shakespeare's
language and times, literary devices, and universally themed scenes
featuring student performers.
This small group access to the Shakesperience Teaching Approach, and
the balance of workshop and performance, allow for the highest levels
of inclusiveness. This unique format permits the celebration of the
spoken language and empowers students with confidence and public
speaking skills. Rather than condescending to the students,
Shakesperience invites them to rise to the level of the language.
The cost of the program brings our artists to your school for five, 45
minute workshops, all incorporated into the school's schedule. Each
session is presented with substantial ties to language arts, social
studies, and theatre learning standards. A study guide with pre- and
post-show activities accompanies the program.
Testimonial
"Even students who are normally "too cool" for academic-based
presentations were enthralled. The [workshop] was infused with humor
and effectively communicated a myriad of information...For days after
the workshop, the students were discussing the new information
presented to them...Without a doubt, your workshop inspired and
entertained my students."
